Thank You Note - SEC 101 Course

Dear ÖzÜ Members,

The SEC 101: Introduction to University Life course, mandatory for all first-year ÖzÜ students and conducted by OLTE as part of the Sectoral Education Program, is a first-year experience initiative designed to support students in adapting to university life and developing conscious awareness within the framework of self-regulation.

Within the scope of this course, during the fall and spring semesters of the 2024–2025 academic year, 13 interdisciplinary seminars and 124 transformational awareness workshops were held to help students adapt to university life and raise their awareness of core competencies, particularly self-regulation skills, as well as cultural and social awareness, interpersonal awareness, and environmental sustainability. Two academic terms were successfully completed with the participation of 2958 students.

In addition to the interdisciplinary seminars that raised awareness in fields such as law, engineering, architecture, gender studies, technology, health, and literature with contributions from faculty members across different schools, workshops focusing on themes such as interpersonal interaction, cultural diversity, social responsibility, and sustainability were carried out by our faculty members, relevant university units, experts, and OLTE. Through these workshops, our students engaged directly with people and resources on campus and enriched their experience of being university students thanks to your contributions. We sincerely thank all seminar and workshop facilitators, our administrators, contributing ÖzÜ stakeholders, and our students who embraced the process and participated actively in this meaningful journey.
